How Google AI Mode visibility tracking works
AI Mode answers conversational queries in its own tab, ahead of the classic results, so appearing there matters. Google provides no public API for it, so the only way to read an AI Mode answer is to read the public surface, and what that returns is the logged-out answer for a query at a given locale rather than any one person's own result. Discoverable collects AI Mode answers, records which pages they cite, and shows the surface on its own tile. It is held out of your headline score on purpose: the score is an average across engines, so admitting a new one would move every score for a coverage reason.
