Google AI Overview checker

Type a search a buyer would make, choose UK or US, and see whether Google showed an AI Overview for it, which pages the overview cited, and whether your site was one of them. One real reading from a clean, logged-out browser, in about 20 seconds, no login.

Country the search is run in

How the check works

The search is run once on Google from a browser located in the country you choose, signed out, with no history. We record whether an AI Overview rendered and the pages it attributed, as exact addresses in the order Google showed them. Sources Google merely retrieved but did not attribute are not counted as cited. The reading is kept for 24 hours so a repeat of the same search returns the same result instead of a new sample.

What it cannot tell you

Whether the overview will appear next week, or for someone else. Overviews are inconsistent by design, so a single reading is a sample. It also cannot say why a page was cited. The Google AI Overviews tracker runs your buyer searches every week and shows the pattern over time, with the pages cited each time.

What to do with the result

If an overview appeared and your site was not among its sources, the cited list is your target list: those are the pages Google trusts for this question today. The guide to getting your brand into Google AI Overviews covers what to change on your site and which third-party pages to get included on.

AI Overview checker: questions

How is this different from searching Google myself?

Your own results are shaped by your account, history, location and device, and Google decides per person whether to show an overview. The checker runs the search in a clean, logged-out browser in the country you choose, records the full list of cited pages as exact addresses, and keeps a dated result you can compare later.

Why does it sometimes say no overview appeared?

Google does not show an AI Overview for every search, and for the same search it can show one to some people and not others. One reading is one sample. The tracker runs your searches every week so the pattern, not one moment, is what you act on.

Does it show the overview text?

No. It shows whether an overview appeared, which pages it cited, and whether a domain you name was among them. We do not republish scraped answers.

Which countries can I check?

The United Kingdom and the United States, from a browser located in that country. The default follows where you are.

What does it cost, and is there a limit?

Free. Three checks an hour per visitor, and the same search in the same country is served from the last 24 hours rather than run again.
